A new Mantsinen 300M mobile harbour crane arrived last week at the Euroports Terminal on the left bank in Antwerp.
The new rubber-tyred materials handler will be used to handle barges and coasters carrying a wide variety of cargo commodities, such as containers, steel coils, wood pulp, and so on.
The crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 80 tons and incorporates Mantsinen’s latest HybriLift 2 energy recovery system. This particular 300M can also be operated fully-electrically, with an extended travel range thanks to a very long electric cable.
Robby Van Bunder, CTO of Euroports said: "We can use the crane to serve two general cargo vessels and lighters at the quay side. Containers can also be handled with the new equipment."
